the langholm initiative

Wild Eskdale is a project hosted by the Langholm Initiative, a charity based in Langholm. This project is hoping to build on the award winning education project Making the Most of Moorlands.

Wild Eskdale not only provides professional Wildlife experiences, safaris and tours, it also offers educational services to local schools. This includes delivering the John Muir Award, talks and presentations and outdoor learning sessions.

The Langholm Initiative are an award-winning community development trust for Eskdale, based in Langholm and working to make our area a better place to live, work and visit. By working with and for the communities of Eskdale, for over 20 years we have been at the forefront of development.

With partners locally, regionally and nationally we can offer expertise, support and guidance through projects and development work.

Unlike private Wildlife tour companies, the fee you pay for an amazing Wildlife experience goes directly towards community projects, outdoor education and to any nature reserves we visit to aid with their running costs. By booking an experience with Wild Eskdale you are contributing to the conservation of Scotlands wildlife.
