inspired by nature | inspiring others through nature

"I have always loved being outside and spending time in the glens near where I grew up. Wildlife inspires me everyday and it's a privilege to share it with others."

Kevin joins the Langholm Initiative following a 3 year spell as a hands on Estate Manager in Northumberland. Here Kevin managed woodland and forestry under the Continuous Cover Forestry strategy that is adopted widely across Europe. This form of forestry provides a more diverse woodland and provides habitat at all times for wildlife.

He has previously worked as part of the Manx Sheerwater project on the isle of Rum. Kevin is a trained display falconer and worked providing educational bird of prey displays at Raptor World in Fife.

Kevin follows the ethos that if you can inspire even one other person the way he has been inspired by nature then maybe it has a chance to be conserved.

"How society interacts with the environment is one of the most important questions facing the next generation."

A former professional Football player with Dundee FC, he now holds an honours degree in Business Administration and an MSc in Conservation Management.

An article based on Kevin's MSc thesis was published by the charity Wolves and Humans Foundation in 2013.
