Samye Ling

Samye Ling is a monastery and international centre of Buddhist training, known for the authenticity of its teachings and tradition.

Founded in 1967 Samye Ling was the first Tibetan Buddhist Centre to be established in the West and was named after Samye, the very first monastery to be established in Tibet. Samye Ling is open all year round for visiting and other activities.

Gilnockie Tower

Gilnockie Tower or Hollows Tower is one of the finest examples of a 16th century Scots tower house or pele tower.

A Clan Armstrong stronghold and home to a Scottish legend, it stands in what were known as the Debateable Lands – so-called because no-one knew if they belonged to Scotland, or England

The Buccleuch Centre

The Buccleuch Centre is a modern and fully accessible venue. Our auditorium has tiered seating with one or more rows of seats on the flat, wheelchair users are always welcome to any of our shows.

We are fully licenced and have a well stocked bar with a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.

Muckle Toon Adventure Festival

Steeped in history, the Scottish Borderlands surrounding Langholm serve up a multitude of sweet natural trails guaranteed to make any mud-loving adventurer grin from ear to ear – so make sure you join the MTAF Party.

Your base for the weekend is the MTAF Basecamp, found at Langholm Rugby Club with everything from Guest Speakers, Climbing Wall, Live Music, Beer, Camping, Demos, Food, Assault Course and much, much more taking place!

Langholm Common Riding

An event packed full of history and a spectacle to behold.

This event always takes place on the last Friday in July. It starts at 5am as the flute band parades the town and ends at 9.30 pm as the cornet hands back the flag in front of the town hall.

Gretna Green

A Five Star Scottish Visitor Attraction, Shopping and Wedding Venue at the home of Anvil weddings since 1754

Only 14 miles from Langholm, Gretna Green offers fantastic outlet shopping and a great day out.

The Walled Garden - Arkleton

The Walled Garden at Arkleton is the dreamiest of secret gardens.

Tucked away in the Ewes valley surrounded by beautiful old woodland it is being restored and rejuvenated. The aim is to surpass its original functional purpose and to elevate it to a sensation filled haven of peace and beauty.
